Cobain’s Cure + All Your Monday Playlists

Last month NPR published an article I found interesting + unique (and as a journalist/blogger quite inspiring). It seemed to be an instant hit among the music blogs. If you have yet to read 50 Artists who inspired Kurt Cobain, you can hop over to NPR for the whole article, which was the basis of this Moday’s Playlist: Cobain’s Cure

Since I found Groovylist rather recently and had until then been unable to find a tool to post streaming audio, I wanted you to have this- all your Monday Playlists in one Cure-All

And later you can catch a decent sized tease of what may or may not be on the other half of our Top Releases of 2011, plus a special feature and more blue skies for you to check out.

Be A Part of the Heart with MusiCares

MusiCares announced this week that Tori Amos, Colbie Caillat, Demi Lovato, Owl City, Parachute, Paulina Rubio, Patrick Stump, and Sugarland are among a few of the artists set to join “Be A Part Of The Heart” which invites the public to come together to create an online mosaic comprised of photo ‘tiles’. Artists like Bon Jovi, Taio Cruz, Melissa Etheridge, Selena Gomez, Martina McBride, and Rascal Flatts uploaded their photos at the launch of the campaign earlier this year.

“Be A Part Of The Heart” hopes to raise awareness and generate resources to help MusiCares continue to provide important assistance for members of the music industry in times of great need.

Not only is this a chance for fans to join their favorite artists online in a shared effort to raise funds for MusiCares and help members of our music family, it’s also a way for people to join an online community and share their stories about music and its impact on their lives.

– President + CEO of The Recording Academy, MusiCares + the GRAMMY Foundation, Neil Portnow

To participate, please visit www.beapartoftheheart.com and make a donation in any amount $1 or grater. You will receive an online tile, where you can upload a photo and include stories and links to websites. Tiles can be created in honor of loved ones, to commemorate important milestones or holidays, and to engage other members of the public.

Also in support of music industry representatives this month is A Night of Sweet Relief. People all across the country will be putting on live shows and events the night of October 15th to raise awareness for their case.

Friday, we will be featuring a list of music releases that also benefit charity in light of our upcoming weekly feature showcasing music with a cause. Check back to read 15 Brilliant Music Compilations for a Cause.
